Quick question. I'm considering switching over to the long hose config and was wondering how to route the hoses on my sp mk25. Since the mk25 has an extra port at the very bottom, would that be a more ideal position to attach a long hose? Also, would a 5 foot or 7 foot hose be more appropriate? Mostly dive warm water although considering diving in Monterrey waters soon (I hope). Thanks for the help, y'all.

If you are talking doubles, the bottom port works well for me, if you are talking singles, you can use whichever port gives you the best hose routing for your rig.

Most single tank divers will use the bottom port as it will best facilitate routing the hose under your right arm.

Here are some pics of my MK20/MK25 routing for single tank config:

Well I use my bottom port on both sets of my double regs. As well as my regs on my single. Every thing ends up nice and stream lined. As for the hose I also use a 7' on doubles & my single. But this could end up being a long thread do to the hose thing.LOL

Imho, if you must use hose protectors, get rid of the Scubapro ones and use the soft type (such as Oceanic).

Before diving, I also remove the rear trim bumper on the MK20/25 - with it removed, the place where the seat retainer plug connects to the top of the MK20/25 body provides a convenient hanging place for the necklace/bungied backup second stage (on a single tank setup) :D

I fit the bumper(s) back on when packing the reg(s) for travel.

Well,, I have a different opinion. For the double rigs, the bottom ports provide an excellent hose routing, but for the single, I don't use the bottom port because as you can see Vie's picture, there is no space under the stage. Therefore, the first stage always sit slightly angled because of your stiff primary hose from the bottom.

BTW, Vie, are you still using Yoke for a single? LOL~~~

Only in Thailand because of the lack of available DIN single tanks. For places where DIN is available, I use my FSR/ATX200 setup for single tank. :D I don't like using a yoke adaptor on my DIN reg...

I see.... I am using a yoke adaptor if I can't bring my own tanks (a long distance dive trip or sneaking dive on the business trip).

My single rig is also MK25/S600.

Nah~~~~Nice warm water diver picture.
