I have never heard of a Mk 16+, but it could be someone's name for a Mk 16 upgraded with Mk 17 guts.

I bought a pair of Mk 17 G250V's, kept one and gave the other one to Marci and use a G250 on the other post. I can't tell the difference underwater.

You're using the s555 as your primary and G250V as secondary? May I ask why? The G250V is adjustable and has a metal air barrel and AKAIK, the s555 isn't and doesn't. I'd switch them around and see how they compare.

I just recently changed to the Mk17/G250V from my old favorite Sherwood Classic (about 15 yrs old). I initially changed regs because my first stage only had 1 HP port and I needed 2. After trying the new regs, I really prefer the Mk17/G250V to my old Sherwood set(s).

I wanted a backup I could detune so that it didn't freeflow as easily on the surface. I also wanted something that would resist freezing up in cold water. If my primary freezes up, I wanted to make sure my backup was not going to when I switched to it.

I've switched to the G250V underwater several times, and can't really tell a difference between that and the S555 (which is exactly the same reg as the S600 just w/o the adjustment knob).
