A man who went missing after going for a dive was found dead in Fung Wong Wat waters off the Plover Cove Country Park on Friday afternoon.

Police received a report from a man on Friday that his younger brother, 55-year-old Lai, went diving off the Plover Cove Reservoir around 9 pm on Thursday but had not returned as of this morning and no one was able to contact him.

Marine police and fire boats were later deployed to Tai Mei Tuk and Heung Lo Kok, with divers dispatched to search the area.

Around 2 pm, they found a body in Fung Wong Wat waters, which was taken back to the Ma Liu Shui Marine Police Base.

Police then contacted the missing man’s family in order to identify the body.

During the identification, one of the female family members was devastated and needed the counseling of other family members.
