Just found out he was found!

USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT - A civilian diver was rescued today off the coast of Florida after the U.S. Coast Guard requested USS Theodore Roosevelt's assistance in a search effort. An SH-60F Seahawk helicopter assigned to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 5 the "Nightdippers," participated in the Coast Guard-led search, and successfully located the diver. The Nightdippers helicopter transported the diver to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, where he was transferred to civilian medical care.

"Providing assistance to mariners in distress is the obligation of every ship and Sailor at sea," said Captain Ladd Wheeler, Commanding Officer, USS Theodore Roosevelt. "We were ready and willing to join in the search effort, and extremely pleased that the individual was rescued."

USS Theodore Roosevelt is currently conducting operations off the Florida coast.

Great news. Sounds like there were a lot of eyes looking for him.

Definitely got lucky! God bless our Navy and Coast Guard!

Happy diving!

Nice to hear a happy ending here. Good for the Swabbies!

It's rare when a search for a single missing person has a happy ending. Thanks for sharing the good news!

It is nice. Floating alone at sea has got to be a bad experience, but getting back to the boat not knowing where one of the divers is must be as well. I remember a thread about a pair who went missing recently off of the Florida Keys, subsequently reading the posts from the husband who was on the boat looking for his wife and his friend whom he'd lost. Glad that one turned out happy too, but he was a wreck.

I am curious as to whether anyone stayed on this boat, or what signal devices the lost diver carried? Don't guess we'll know...?

Wonderful news! Glad it had a good ending.

It's always nice to see a good ending with this type of situation.
