In the 4 OW certification dives(or how many there are today), what's the depth that a dive must be???......Do different agencies have different minimums??......Just curious..........

PADI = "the minimum depth for OW skill evaluations is 5m/15' "
from the General Standards of OW training manual.......

Open water also has time or air useage requirements (must breathe at least 50 cubic feet of compressed gas or remain submerged at least 20 minutes).

SSI requires the 4 training dives to be between 15 and 60 feet and the first dive should not be deeper than 40 feet.

I believe NAUI requires that the dives be between 15 and 60 feet and last at least 20 minutes each.

Since I am not a DiveMaster or Instructor I don't have the NAUI S & Ps handy I could be mistaken (my memory could be faulty).

NwGratefulDiver can correct me if I am wrong since I know Bob is NAUI instructor.
