Not to worry, I'll forward your question to the FWC. They'll be around to help you with any legal questions.

Walter, if you read the complete thread you'll find out that I simply asked a question, then decided not to do it because I found out it was illegal.

I read the entire thread; I never saw where you said you'd decided not to do it because it was against the law. Rereading the thread, I still don't see that. Since you decision is now clear, I applaud your decision and apologize for my misunderstanding.

okay, Walter...

I thought I heavily implied it... But I will clarify it...

I...will....not....break....any....Florida...laws...on....mini-season...

and I further will think twice about posting anything in the Florida Conch divers forum again. Unbelievable how a simple question turned into this. Clearly, most Floridians are sensitive about mini-season and non-residents coming in, but it was just a question!!!! If I didn't respect the laws, I simply would not have posted in the first place.

Onespeed,my observation is based on 12 years living abroad as a young man and learning to spearfish. Then 6 years of traveling in the USN spearfishing wherever possible on liberty. Also based on countless internet conversations with others living in foreign countries and seeing the wrath descend.Even occasionally on the hunting section here.

FWIW I shoot on scuba professionally part-time,maybe 70 days a year/200+ dives a year.I could not care less about others perceived values, morals or ethics. They are personal and subject to change all to often.I obey all laws:rofl3:just like everyone here.Except that speed limit thing and maybe what ever other laws everyone else breaks but it's OK to them:shakehead:

If you'd like a second apology, I'll be happy to give it. I thought I already said, "Since you decision is now clear...."

I'm renting a boat during the mini-season this year and I'm gonna have 5 people on board (3 diving for lobsters)...

is it illegal to buy 5 licenses, but only have 3 divers, and catch the limit for everyone on board?

thanks!

Jack

...uhh, this is precisely why I DON'T go out on my boat diving during mini season. I'll be back on the water the day after the hysteria dies down and there will still be plenty of Lobster the rest of the season (assuming everyone takes no more than their LEGAL limit). :no

alrighty Walter... no prob... I apologize also for any misunderstanding..

I'm just gonna ignore mitchsea's comment... :-)

This would be a good time to wish all my fellow Florida lobster hunters the best of luck and the safest of dives. Long range forecasts say that most of Florida will have near flat waters on July 30th.

Be safe, stay legal, & no bug is worth your life!
