I finally got Evil Jeff back in the water today. It was just like riding a bike...you fall down, get hurt, cry...Actually, we had a very easy entry at low tide. Mud and gravel were exposed, making it a stroll in the park.
We dropped down and fed Abby, then explored the kelp forest. It seemed every rock had serpulids, megalommas and Christmas Tree worms of every color. Rockfish, giant kelpfish, sculpins and blacksmith escorted us about the reef.
The water was as cold as a witch's...refrigerator. Jeff took his leaking drysuit back to the beach to warm up while a free-diving Divebum Don divebombed me from above.
My computer read 56.5F, but I'm sure my regulator was just about to freeze up. I spent 97 minutes in the icebox, then got out to find the Sun was setting and it was cold outside as well.
