You guys are making this tough. I am trying to decide if it is worth all the effort of hauling gear through the airport, drying it in the hotel room, etc....

Tough decision....especially when I will be in Cozmuel the next week.

Question: if you stop running charters on Oct 31 why not take the boat out on Nov 1st?
 
actual the waters calm significantly as the fall turns to winter, so mid-november should make for some nice wreck diving assuming waters still and the visability improves

Pat, why don't you take scubadad out as "a buddy who is chipping in for gas and post dive beverages", since the boat is still moist i mean. ;0)
 
I wouldnt Dive Folly cove in colder weather. There is no place to park your warm up vehicle and the entry over those boulders can wreck your day. I'm not sure how late Cape ann Charters runs their boat in the fall, but you can email Fran M at Franm52@aol.com. He will take you anywhere you like. I might even join you.
