Hello readers:

Death

It is with sorrow that I report the death of Merrill Spencer, MD. He was instrumental in the development of Doppler ultrasound bubble detection for diving. Many dive tables can trace their origins to this procedure.

It was in his laboratory that I learned many valuable techniques, and I am most grateful for his tutelage and mentorship.

Throughout his life, he applied his expertise to research and prevention of stroke and worked up until his death on this medical problem.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I can only offer my condolences to his family and to you and others who he touched so deeply.

He will live on in part, tho, thru people like yourself...

my sympathy.

Glad for his life.

Thanks for posting this.

Spencer's name and post-dive bubble detection will always be synonymous. My condolences to his friends and family.

My condolences and prayers are sent to all his family and friends.
