Jepuskar does not make a worthy arch nemesis.

To get the last few inches needed to reach your valves, use your free hand to shove your elbow towards the valve.

i've learned that a GOOD DIVER IS ALWAYS LEARNING...... (i bet that'd make a great catchPhrase for a magazine....) seriously..... there's ALWAYS something new on these boards that i can incorporate into future enjoyment of SCUBA....

dumpsterDiver:
I learned (on another board) that when diving with a thick, tight wetsuit, that covering each foot with a plastic shopping bag makes it much, much easier to get the foot to slip through the leg and foot hole of the wetsuit. When the foot is completely through the leg hole, then you remove the bag and use it on the other foot.

I also dump some dilute baby shampoo into my boots to slip into tight, cold water wetsuit boots that have no zipper.

Works GREAT with drysuit seals as well, although I always feel stupid putting my head in a plastic bag to help with the neck seal :D

Man I've learned so much here, impossible to list it all but here are a few examples:

During my OW quarry dives I got anxious on a decent with no visual reference. I felt like I was breathing through a straw and aborted. That caused me to seek out what went wrong and why it happened. I forget who, a commercial diver on here I think, basically told me to STOP, then take in several DEEP breaths. Sounds simple but it worked. I now understand much more about the cycle of stress, CO2 effects etc. and how to deal with it.

When building my BP/W rig FredT really helped me with an article he wrote about diving neutral throughout the water column. His customer support is simply fantastic. He didn't just sell me new gear, he taught me the fast track from OW to being a good diver. Answered all my newbie questions.

"Don't be a d*ck-head, know it all dive nazi".

The above from a GUE trained, non-kool-aid drinker. He's one of a few (GUE or not) that I respect immensly.
