We were driving north from Galway this past April when, in a place I’d least expected to see anything scuba related, we came across a small sign on the side of the road that said Scuba West. We followed dwindling roads for almost 10 miles to discover their shop. Unfortunately, no one was there, but we did discover many coves and beaches that looked like they belonged more in the tropics than Ireland. The owner did contact me later and on some future trip we’ll try diving there.

Looks from their dive site map that there's lots of good diving off the islands in Ireland.
