Jamdiver:
Yup, it's usually called the 'plastic fantastic', the lens feel is crappy, very plasticky, not great construction.
But the optics are wonderful, can't be beat for the price.

The 50mm f1.4 is better constructed, but is about $310 or so...
I ordered 1 from B&H tonight. I'll post something up next weekend from my tryout!!!

PS Larry love full moon shots!

Took some cityscapeish/panorama shots earlier today.....

Shots from the financial district of Kingston.

Nice shots, Jam. I like the way you caught the sunbeams in the first one. Belatedly, love the flowers, Caloy.

Great series, Jam! It's so interesting to see different effects on the same subjects.

Wow! I haven't checked in for a bit and there are some lovely shots here :)

You'll love the 50mm - yeah, it feels real lightweight compared to my other glass, but woohooo! It's fun and NICE. I considered the 1.4 but when I talked to pro people shooters they told me to go with the cheap one first...many said that they still used it and it would be more than adequate. Have fun!
