So, you pretty much have to plan ahead to get together? I don't think I will be running into too many of you here in the desert. There should be a way to just identify each other when you have not made prior arrangements. Maybe I should get a scubaboard shirt.

There is an easy way to tell a SB member from anyone else. The member will have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from all the message posting.

I've met a number of SB members and dived with them. It is easier for me because I live on Catalina where many SoCal divers go to dive (and others from the rest of the world). SLC would be a bit more difficult! I feel your pain.

I tried to add my picture once but the picture I wanted to use, the one with my cool car, was too large. My computer is too old to covert it. Maybe someday when I get a new computer.

Quite frequently members will post where they're going, and ask "Hey if you're in the neighbourhood..." and folks link up.

This is done mainly through the many "clubs" areas...

I did this when I went to the Puget Sound area last October. I've made some (hopefully ) lasting friendships as a result. A couple of folks (1 is a member, the other is not) are even coming up here in August for some real Alaska diving

yes.... this, i believe, is how Scubabanker recently spotted
me on a flight from Bonaire... and it turned out to be a great
time, both my wife and I loved Scubabanker and her family,
and enjoyed talking to her tons...

but most of my SB meetings are on purpose: we set up a dive
trip through here and then keep in touch.
