Is there a type or brand that works for a jelly/Manowar sting,I Thought it was just salt any how /wrong.Like to make sure got it in my kit,Thanks!

I agree with vinegar. Just get a small squirt bottle, fill 'er up and throw it into your kit. I'd also recommend that you put the bottle into a ziploc type bag. Better to ensure that the vinegar stays off the rest of your kit. I also imagine it will bring relief a lot quicker than having meat tenderizer rubbed on the stung area.

one more thing to add: a shaving razor (a bic shaver would work) and shaving cream to remove any tentacles (don't use your bare hand!). If unavailable, wet some sand to make a paste and shave with credit card (Visa, Mastercard whichever has the lowest interest rate).

I have some in my kit, it still contains papain. I also have baking soda, vinegar, water and rubbing alcohol. I don't think that there is any real good data on how well the tenderizer works though. There are also some reports of vinegar causing the nematocysts to fire.

Ingredients:
Salt, Sugar, Food Starch, Papain (from Papaya Fruit).

living next door to the south china sea - I would highly recommend plain simple natural (not synthesised) brown or pale yellow supermarket vinegar. just pour into a small bottle.

From experience, it works.

Thanks all for your Tips-sounds like Vinegar, and the credit card if my wife gives it back to me! Thanks!

My DMT kit always has vinigar every since we went out and on of the boys got hit on the back and we didn't have any we used the next best thing ... :11: Urine. He thanked us but I am glad I was not him. Definatly try to remove the Nematocytes gently.

we used the next best thing ... :11: Urine. . .

The next best thing would be anything that has a weak acidity, urine has uric acid, but is not the most socially accepted thing (except for in some of the darker corners of the internet).

remember though, cocacola (any soda) has carbonic acid, fruit juice has citric acid,

I have successfully treated BAD jelly stings by squeezing a pineapple over the wound. It worked so well you could see the hydrogen bubbling off.

Resourcefull use of available items is the answer and wishing you had paid more attention ot high school chemistry class.

HEHE good call brother
