Hi,

Wheres the best place to dive in Thailand in May.

I was there in November before, around Ko Samui and Ko Tao. The visibility was terrible, about one foot. I realise I was there at the wrong time of year for diving.

Are the Similan Islands and Phucket crap for diving in May? Is it hot then.

Thanks

Hi there !

November is monsoon in the Koh Tao area so the diving would've been pants to saythe least. May is a lovely time here and you might just see some whalesharks....

Im sure someone will answer your question about May on the west coast soon.

Ayesha

The Similan Islands Marine National Park closes May 1 and remains closed until Nov 1.
You can still dive in the southern Andaman in May, however. We dive year round from Phuket, though some of the other islands get very quiet in early May. Last year in May I went to Koh Lipe, way down south; another year in May I went to Koh Lanta, not as far south.
