I did my confined dives and book work last January. I have taken refresher courses but I think I am running out of time for for my OW dives. Is it true that I must complete the work within one year for PADI certification?

Thanks

I just checked my PADI Open Water Diver Course Record and Referral Form...

"Encourage the diver to complete training as soon as possible and explain that this form is only valid for one year from the last training module completion date."

Hope this helps!

Thanks - that does it. Guess I'm off to Florida next week to wrap this up

Please keep us (meaning me :D) posted on your progress, tparrent.

While I apparently have an instructor willing to work with me from a different agency, I'm still holding on to my PADI referral form just in case. :05: Either way, I, too, am planning on completing certification in Florida.

Thx! :-)

Don't be offended if an instructor wants to take you through the whole class again. The instructor who completes your final training dive is the certifying instructor, and therefore first in line to be sued when you get hurt because you forgot something you learned a year ago.

I would say to at least be prepared to retake the quizzes and/or final exam.

Good luck!
