MAV questions

Someone school me on MAV blocks. The two I’m looking at are the Fathom and the Sub Gravity (IQ sub made?)

The SG offering has stainless inserts , can’t tell about the Fathom, does the fathom also have SS inserts? If not are they at least helicoiled?

Second question, fathom uses standard Schrader / bc internals , does SG also use Schrader internals for easy service?

Anyone have any strong feelings one way or the other between these two or have anything else to add? Any others I should be looking at? Cheers

The recessed buttons on the Fathom make it pretty easy to just barely crack the valve open.

The open non-recessed button on the IQ sub drives me crazy. 0/10 cannot recommend (depending on your application, mine is over the right shoulder for dil on a sidewinder)

Also the IQsub and the Fathom use the same "SS inserts" into a base delrin block. They are just a slightly larger diameter thread than the hoses themselves, both are still threaded into the delrin

I've had both MAV blocks.

Both brands needle valves.

Currently using the fathom versions.

I like the recessed buttons.

Hadn’t really thought about the recessed button but that’s a damn good point, I’ve hit the MAVs on my chop at inopportune times before.

Look at Tecme, too. What are you building?

I've been around here long enough to know better than to post my stupid ideas.

I suppose I could start a thread called "Recreational CCR builders, let's see your rig"
