That would be the type that is referred to as "Landing Craft" -- the "Tank" has a turret on the front as well (though is otherwise similar).

The "Tank & Landing Craft" are a long swim from shore, but can be scootered. The dive kiosk at the Maui Prince offers guided scooter tours there.

Is this the "tank" (LVT(A)-4) version?

yeah, that looks like what I'd imagine it to be if it were intact.
 
you know i found an armored something or other infront of waikiki its still mostly covered but you can tell its an armored something could be tank half track truck or something but its there not far from turtle canyon.
