StuartT, thanks I will check out their Buddy Book. I plan on doing a boat dive with them as well.

Thats another way to find a shore dive buddy. Go on a boat charter and ask the other divers on the boat if they want to shore dive with you. Found a buddy this way too. I haven't but if you are really comfortable going solo most of the south Maui shore dives max out around 40 ft and are pretty easy to navigate.
