Do not tighten your mask. What you need to do is equalize your mask. As you go deeper, the pressure is greater and will force the mask down on your face giving the sensations you feel, or others like them. To equalize your mask, breathe out occasionally through you nose in the same manner as if you were clearing it from partial flooding. That should solve your issue.
