Hello every one.
I am looking at this High Pressure Scuba tank made by PST. The tank is 3500 PSI.
I do not know if this tank is 80 or 100 cubic feet. If I was to guess, I would say 100! On the tank it says DOT-E9791-3500 TP5250 496777PSTCDI; Can anyone tell me what these marking mean! Thanks

Welcome to the board.

How tall is the tank? That will tell you.

On a PST you won't get cubic feet from the markings - just pressure (the 3500), DOT and or TC (govt agencies) I think the tank alloy (can someone confirm?) the tank's serial number and manufacturer (PST)

Tell me how tall it is from ground to neck and we'll know immediately. Or even how much it weighs when empty or full.

How does it compare to an AL80? A Little smaller=100 A lot smaller=80

As bizzare as it sounds the permanent markings do not indicate volume.

This chart will let you cross reference some specifications.

As mentioned the 100 CF is almost a dead ringer for an AL80. The 80s are about 6 inches shorter.

Note that this is a DIN only cylinder.

DOT E9791 = Department of Transportation exemption number
3500 = Working pressure of cylinder
TP5260 = Test pressure of cylinder
496777 = tank serial number
PST = Pressed Steel Tank
CDI = ??

Good luck,

CDI=Cramer Decker (part of the Sherwood Group) sold as a Sherwood Genesis cylinder

Thanks for all the replys. I am still waiting for the seller for the sizing of the tank. Yes I saw this tank on e-bay but you know how some of e-bay Tank buys end up a nice Tank Lamp or Vase.

OK. I got that from the seller - The tank from the neck to the bottom of the boot is 24 1/2 inchs - what dose that make it an 80 !
