I also remember it from years ago that there were certain foods that would never be used as provisions on submarines. Don't remember the bananas, but I remember apricots and beans (LOL)

Yea, forbidden fruit

The bananas thing is still popular down here. Lots of fishing boats have signs at their docks. Some captains will search coolers before departure!

Interestingly we had a guy on the boat with us Sunday that brought bananas. We gave him grief over it and sure enough, he missed the wreck on an easy drop and had a 180' sand dive
