I was in San Diego a week ago to dive on the great Marissa dive boat. We dived the Yukon, the Lazy Days wreck and another site (7-finger reef? 6 finger reef?... how many fingers did that reef have?)

Had a great day. Saw some stuff I have never seen before, had a great hang with the folks on the Marissa and an excellent day in San Diego.

I love diving this boat.

Huge thanks to Josh & Jen for the invite. Mega thanks to Claudette - apex buddy and most fun diver ever.

Here are some shots.

Enjoy.

=====================================

A White Sea Lemon? - I don't know what this is, but it looks like a sea lemon that really isn't too lemony.

'tata (Doriopsilla albopunctata) peeking over some fuzz

One-horned Flatworm - dude lost a horn someplace. This was a normal sized worm, probably about an inch long

Anemone on Kelp - when we got back after dive three, several of us were talking about how its the first time we've seen small anemones on kelp before. They were about the size of a nickel or a quarter. Quite lovely

Sea Spider - Claudette spotted this wacky thing. I've never even heard of a sea spider. He was small - about 3/4" or so across. He was moving all over the top of this rock area. The top shot is pretty soft, but its the only front-on shot I got of his mouth pincers. Sea Spiders. Who knew?

Sandy on Lace - this sandiegensis was feeding on these lacy bryozoan. Looks like he's munching on a bowl of corn chex!

Shrimpy - this guy came OUT of the crack to come and look at himself in the port of the deathstar. He was all over the place, but kept coming back. I got about 6 or 7 shots of him. Their eyes are the coolest things ever

Monstah Flatworm - this thing was about 5 inches across. He was chillin under a rocky overhang. He was flapping in the surge, and is probably the most beautiful invert I've ever seen. Unreal, this thing

You must already know, but those pics are incredible. Magazine style, picture perfect. And all in SoCal, thats great. Here in AZ, San Carlos and Rocky Point, I get to see a lot of dirt and catfish.

Nice Photos! That trip was a fun one :)
