An invitation to MarineQuest, the annual open house of the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI), on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 10 am - 4 pm. This award-winning event is an opportunity for you and your family to learn about Florida’s fish and wildlife and FWRI’s new and exciting research.

This year, MarineQuest is going wild! New stations, featuring topics such as whooping cranes, black bears, wildlife diseases, and Florida’s native reptiles, will showcase some of the exciting wildlife research programs that are being conducted by the Institute.

Hey thanks for the info OD. I think I may just make a day of this and take my nieces and nephew.

It's a good time...kids and adults seem to enjoy the Institute tour, touch tanks, sharks, and all the other exhibits. If you go, stop by the commercial and recreational fisheries area and say Hi.

Will do. :)

I was supposed to have other plans but it looks like they are going to fall through so there is a pretty good chance that I will show up with the wife and kids.

Hey now, that would be awesome. I'd love the chance to meet your family! :jump:

Cool ~ you guys will have a good time. Every section/department really puts in a lot of effort to show the public what we do (research/science). The kids will go home with neat stuff too. I'll be at the Fisheries Dependent Monitoring tent talking about commercial and recreational fishing. Stop by, it'll be nice to meet you both.

I'll let you know when I know for sure and we can meet up and say hello. I'll let you meet the family but you can't let the kids know that their dad might be a little nutty. :rofl3:

I hope to meet you there. It looks like it will be fun and my kids love anything to do with the water so I'm sure they will love it. I wonder where they get that from?
