Does anyone know how to remove the manual inflator/deflator button on a standard Mares ergo inflator? The power inflator is easy enough to remove but I can't remove the manual inflator/deflator and there's some grit trapped in there that I need to get rid of as it's preventing the button from working properly

Thanks

As a technician I would recomend taking it to a certified tec so that it can be serviced. Having said that for the lawyers here is what you should do:

Remove the soft gray mouth piece.
You will notice a plastic pin that extends from the inside of the mouth piece through the inflation button towards the male quick connector.
Remove this pin so that the button comes out of the inflator, keep your hand over the button as you do so or you may achieve sub-orbital flight of the spring inside.
The o-ring around the buttom should be cleaned and lubed or simply replaced.

Reassamble in the opposite order, spring, button, retaining pin.

The Schrader valve inside may need cleaning as well.

Best of luck.
