Is there someplace around Cabo San Lucas that is reasonaly good to dive at the end of March? I'm going there for a 6 day trip and would like to get in a day or two of diving. The information I'm seeing on the internet seems to indicate I am off peak diving season. I haven't had the opportunity to dive in three and a half years, so I will be going with a dive master and prefer to keep it to 60 ft or less and to not have to contend with strong currents. I sold my dive gear, so unless I can find an adjustable reg to rent, I expect a tank to last about 40 minutes.

Hi there. I am leaving for that area at the end of this month as well. The dive operators tell me that the visibility might not be ideal due to a plankton bloom, but they swear there will likely be some good (hopefully) big things to see. We'll be in Cabo Pulmo first, so I am bit concerned about the possibility of wind as well. Would definitely be interested in any suggestions that come your way.

We have always dove in Sept-Oct time period. That is when the water is warmest and always lots to see. The wife and I always enjoyed the Sea of Cortez Diving near pelican rock area. Although Cabo Pulno is said to be awesome.

Ended up snorkelling instead of diving. Good thing. Took me three days to relearn the trick to wearing my mask without it leaking. Took a couple days to relearn how to clear my ears well. Would have been a lot more frustrating if I'd been paying for dives.

Lots of fish at Santa Maria Beach, Chileno Beach, and a little reef in Melano Bay at the beach next to Lover's Beach on the bay side. Visibility better in early afternoon than late afternoon/evening...probably 40 ft at best. Chileno Beach was my favorite...most reef to explore at snorkel depths, better visibility than Santa Maria.

Two days with a 3 mm wet suit (1st and 4th), two days without. Really need the wetsuit if you are going to stay in the water a long time. Hypothermia will catch up with you. Even the 3mm didn't keep me as warm as I would have liked on the last day, so would recommend going with something thicker for diving.

Didn't make it out to Cabo Pulmo, which is supposed to be the best place for snorkeling and diving.
