Hello Conch Divers,
Any Recommendations/Feedback/Experiences,on who to use in Marathon,Fl
for Open Water certification checkout dives?

Here are a couple i have found:
Abyss Dive Center
Halls Diving Center

Have any of you ScubaBoard Members used Abyss (or) Halls in Marathon?

Would really like to stay and dive in the Marathon area.

*I am also open to the idea of going to other locations in the Keys.
i still have not decided as to where/who to do the diving with.

:06: If you know of any LDS/Dive operators ~ that you could Highly Recommend for the OW checkout dives.....
{Maybe you used them,for your OW checkout certification dives?}
Let me know > I will consider them.

Regards,Rascal

I would HIGHLY reccomend Tilden's Scuba Center on Duck Key, about ten miles north of Marathon.

There are plenty of dive shops and dive sites in the keys. I've heard good things about Abyss but have never dove with them.

How long are you planning to be down here and how much diving are you going to want to do?

Rachel

I've dove with Abyss two or three times and feel they run a safe and
courteous operation. In fact last time with them they went out with just
myself and my buddy and we had the boat to ourselves, very cool.
Also Captain Hooks at the Vaca cut runs a good charter.

As part of my version of the grow your own dive buddy program, my wife and younger daughter just did their cert dives with Rachel of Wreckreation Charters. She did a great job with them and I highly recommend her. When they were finished and we were on our way home, they were already scheming on how to get back to the keys to dive with Rachel again. She's on Summerland Key at mm 25. You can reach her at 305-515-2750.

Good to hear from you, Bill!

I'm looking forward to seeing you all this summer so we can do some fun diving :D
