Malformed reg mouthpiece + zip tie vs cave line

Unfortunately I left a 1st stage reg sitting on top of my second stage’s mouthpiece which caused it to deform enough where getting the mouthpiece in my mouth is difficult (doable but don’t want that stress underwater). Is there a way to relax the mouthoiece material somehow so I can mold it back to its proper shape, or must I just replace it?

Second question…if I replace, thoughts on using cave line to tie it down rather than zip ties?
