I met up with DiveBuddySean today for a dive at Mala. While we were gearing up Kidspot came along and gave some helpful advice on entry at that site. Mala was a neat dive with lots of life - a couple sharks and lots of turtles too. Vis however was bad - lots of sand churned up and some hefty surge in some spots. We did get an hour dive in though and vis was still good compared to the quarries I dive back home.

We decided to do our second dive at Airport Beach. Nice easy entry from shore and we swam out beyond the first reef to the patch reefs. That was where all the neat life was. Say several eels, banded shrimp, and a large variety of fish. Sean spotted 3 different frogfish and a scorpionfish. I saw a bunch of hawaiian lionfish.
I'll post the photos soon in my gallery - http://www.teleis.com/gallery. Vis at airport was good. Wind had kicked up for our return swim back to shore but it was no problem.
2 great dives today..... Thanks Sean for the company and Thanks Tim for the info.

sounds like a great set of dives! Just checked your gallery, the last pic with the two leaf scorpionfish...lucky find!!

Glad you had a good dive, and great meeting you and Sean :) Hopefully we will get the opportunity to dive together soon!

Aloha, Tim
