Hi All,

I'm new here and want to service my own equipment. I'm not worried about ability, I just need the knowledge.

I have a Magnum Blizzard second stage on a 4500 1st stage. I bought it used when I first started diving many moons ago and as far as I know, it came from the factory that way, but I cannot find any info on the first stage. I need to find a manual for the 4500 1st stage. I've searched this site and the web and cannot find a download specifically for the Sherwood 4500. Can anyone advise if the 4500 has the same parts as some other 1st stage or provide any other info?

I also have a USD Conshelf 20 that I want to be able to service. Can anyone advise where I can get the manual and repair kits for it?

Thanks for your time,
tyronne

After looking at the first stage for a fifth or sixth time, I discovered that the markings were not set well into the yoke metal and the first stage is actually a 3500, so that will make things much easier, although I still would like to have some info on the US Divers
Conshelf 20 with first stage.

I'll try to get some pics soon.

Pics probably aren't necessary if you can identify your regulator in the manuals linked above.

Take a look in the discontinued Sherwoods section and open the .pdf file for the SRB3200. Does that look like your regulator?

http://www.frogkick.dk/manuals/sherwood/Discontinued%20models/

If you can determine what it is, that will be a good starting point, but it's not critical since many Sherwoods have the same internal parts and same specs for IP (intermediate or "interstage" pressure).

Give a holler if the manual brings up some questions.

Thanks Dave. My reg looks just like the 3200. Appreciate the help. Now to find a kit. Missed some on ebay a few weeks ago.

Here's a link to a ScubaBoard posting offering rebuild kits a couple weeks ago:

http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/gear-equipment-classifieds/227342-rebuild-kits-update.html

Assuming you're going to learn this relatively simple process of testing, cleaning, rebuilding and/or reassembling your Sherwood, you should able to judge whether you can get by without a rebuild kit and just flip or replace the HP and LP seats, which is often enough.

If you follow the link below to Frogkick's Sherwood manuals, you can open the "Tools, Repair Kits and Accessories.pdf" which will show you some of the tools and techniques and will describe what is actually in the rebuild kits.

My point is: don't let the lack of a rebuild kit deter you from servicing your Sherwood. :)
