For those that don't know, this will be the last weekend that Madison Quarry is open for the year. So if you want to dive there... now is the time.

I'm heading out there this Sunday (the 26th).

Anyone else going?

Looks like I'll be there this Sunday, along with bigken462

should be there sometime between 9am and 10am..... need to check with the others and see when they want to head out.... and leaving mid/early afternoon

Rita, glad you can join us....

water temps should still be warm.... hopefully the air temps will warm up some for surface interval for those of us diving wet. :D

We missed you, Mike! :D

Got a couple of good dives in....we practically had the quarry to ourselves, save for a small group at the far end of the quarry, and a team entering the water just as we were packing up our stuff.

Visibility wasn't all that great, but the water was still fairly warm, and diving was downright pleasant as soon as the air temperature warmed up a bit!

It was fantastic getting to dive Madison quarry throughout the end of this summer...hopefully, it will be open again next year :)

Well I went outside at about 8:30am in a pair of shorts and it was 43f air temp.

I figured diving wet that would be no fun.

But around lunchtime as their air temp warmed up, I was kicking myself for not going because it turned out to be such a nice day.

oh wel..... :(

OK Mike, we'll cut ya some slack. Although it would have been funny seeing you slip into a state of hypothermia induced tourette syndrome. We had some hot coco boiling, and eased some hunger pains with fresh hot barbeque sandwiches hot off the cooker.

You snooze, you loose! Maybe next time. Holler at me and I'll pick you up at one of the Cullman exits to save ya some fuel cost next time you plan on going to ABWA.
