I knew I had seen this and just found the deal: Luggage Express partners to varying degrees with Citibank, Visa and American Express. On my Mastercard Advantage Platinum Select, they will send bags ahead (internationally as well) up to 70 pounds for free once per year. I have never used it but am shipping our two bikes in a case this way, and they weigh only about 30 pounds together with the case. The airlines want eighty dollars each... I am assuming they would go straight to the hotel and not have to be crammed in a rental car..

Check your travel benefits on some of the higher end cards because I have had this benefit for a long time and did not know it...I could have used it for surgical team supplies for Interplast missions and DiverDennis takes a lot of things like school supplies one way for kids in Mexico.....Couyld really be the bomb on things going one way!

If its dive gear or camera equipment, it can be insured if the 1000K standard is not enough, and would probably make some connections easier. Has anyone here use any baggage services associated with a credit card?

oh yea, sorry, thought I had posted it.

Their rates did not blow me away, but I'd probably have a good reason to use it free once a year, especially for bikes. It looks like there are other baggage services out there, but this is the one that partners with my Citibank Mastercard. I see they partner with Am X so of course now I am wondering what deal they have made for Platinum Business holders, since I was getting ready to kick that one to the curb since the perks have really fallen off lately and the USAA Am X gives easier cash credite to your account on ANY ticket, ANY day, Any seat, etc. Plus Am X business platinum is not answering their phone these days...for 300 dollars a year, you HAVE to answer the phone within five minutes, or you can forget it.

I was thinking the same about Amex Business Platinum --but let me know if you find anything out about that perk --might be worth it.

Thanks,

Jeff

yea sure, I'll be digging around as I am in travel mode planning how to burn up JB's post combat 6 weeks of leave. I love finding random money in weird little fine print, its a game that pays.
