All,

to make a long introduction short (wondering about this for a year now)
Is there a way to repair /remove Bullae in such a way that you're able to dive ?

I came in for a medical exam last year after passing my Open Water. Since the docter didn't trust the amount of me smoking he asked a second opinion from a specialized diving lung doctor. As I came in I was a normal healthy man of 40. As I left I was a lung patient. Turns out I have 4 bullae of 2,5cm due to bronchitis 20 years earlier (he explicit stated that it was not from smoking ! his other statement was that if I kept on diving the question would not be "do I get a pneumothorax" but "when do I get it"

Since these are not in my way for a 'normal' living I have no further contact with a medic about this. (I ran 10km in 50.03 and am currently training for half marathon)
But....
at night
I still wake up crying because "I've dreamt about beiing down and realised I never will be there again"
(I tried snorkling a month ago, but it felt like watching a match on tv instead of being in the game yourself)

I read about stuff like: pleurodesis / pleurectomy / bullaectomy but I can't find any info if those (long and painfull therapies) will give me a guarantee to dive again.
