Any reason not to put a touch of lube on the Isolator bar O rings? Had a small leak and going to replace them when I get the other three I need, today. Would normally put a small amount but wanted to make sure there is no reason not to. I havent had to change them before now. (Ttribolube is what I will use and I mean a very small amount just to decrease friction while installing the isolator bar.)

Thanks

Thanks couldnt find any literature that said either way figured is should not be an issue.

I put a little tribolube on the threads also so it is easier to take apart next time also.

I see no reason not to add just a touch. Depending on usage an isolator may not get rinsed as thoroughly as other gear. Saltwater likes to find it's way into every crack and crevice it seems and leave some residue. A tiny bit on the o rings and excess wiped onto the metal between them can help mitigate this. It's what I did when servicing my own. Similar to when you replace the HP spool in the spg. I lube these well and when pressing the spool into the SPG wipe the excess onto the threads. Goes a long way towards preventing corrosion and making servicing easier the next time.

Just don't overdo it.

As other have mentioned above, I put a dab of Christolube on the o-rings, and the threads.

Cheers,
Mitch

they're not static o-rings, so they should have a bit of lube put on them... same as the o-rings on the end of your hoses
They are static after the crossbar is installed...

I lube crossbar orings and the threads.
