Hi Guys,
I am heading for a 4 day trip to Cabo San Lucas on Memorial Weekend. I have never been there and don't know much about diving in the area.

Do you guys have any advice as to dive operators in the area? Dive sites? Places to eat?

I am also interested in surfing somewhere in the area if possible.

Thanks a lot

Hello Divers. There are 5 great spots near Lands End North,South, Middle Walls,Peligan Rock,Neptunes Finger and lands End.On all these Dives you will see tons on tropical Fish, some White Tip Reef sharks maby Eagle Rays Large Green Morys.
There are great Photo Ops with lots of Mirco life nice sea Fans and big Groupers.
I have been Diving with Baja Dive for many years. They are located in the Tesoro Los Cabos Resort right on the marina Boardwalk in Downtown Cabo.Nice 40 foot boat with lots of shade. The Dive masters are very good and know the area well.Water Temp are in the upper 60s.
There are two surf spots costa Azul and Cerritos.

Two great places to eat, Macombo Marriscabo and Casa Raphael. MM is a local's seafood place and CR is an upscale restaurant.

I don't surf but there are some beaches north of town that are reputed to have very good surfing.

Also be sure to take a water taxi to Lovers/Widows beach. Nice way to spend an hour or two.

Sue is right about the dive spots. I was in Cabo 2 weeks ago and dove with Amigos Del Mar. They did a good job. In August, I dove with Tiosports and was very happy. Usually, though, I dive with Manta. Which operator you use is probably best based on which is closest to you. However, both Manta and Tio launch their boats off the beach, so there will be some sand on your gear.

One of my favorite restaurants in the whole world is Brazilia. However, (1) you must be a strict carnivore, and (2) you had better be VERY hungry. (Having low cholesterol is probably beneficial.)

A final note: I brought a 7mm wetsuit with me and was very happy. 5mm would be ok (Amigos Del Mar supplies 5mm). I forget what the others supply.

I second Amigos del Mar, they have comfy boats, good DMs, well cared for rental gear and oxygen on the boats. As far as Restaurants I love Mi Casa and Mariscos Mazatlan and we always go to Panchos at least one night when we are there. The place I usually see people surfing is off the beach by Mykonos in San Jose del Cabo. Have fun.

Hello Divers.I have been Diving Cabo for several years and have found Baja Dive to be the best shop there.Great location with free parking just out side there patio. They are located in the Tesoro Los Cabos Resort on the Marina Board walk.I like seeing the same crew every time I dive so I know its going to be a great trip. They also have all safty gear C02 and first aid kit. www.baja-dive.net
They have a 40 foot boat thats very stable and has lots of room.
there are two surfing spots one is serritos Beach near Todos Santos about 1 hr Drive North from Cabo there is a surf shop there with rentals.
The outher is in San Jose at Costa Azul right in frount of Cabo Surf Hotel there is also a surf shop there.
For great Sea Food try Maros Shrimp House across the street from Panchos near the Tesoro Resort. If your a beef eater you cant beat Steak House Brazil. Its all you can eat for about $30.00 with 7 different meats all grilled. They are close to the Shrimp house and Panchos.
