O ring compressed, chrome to chrome. Missing comma.

Chrome to chrome only on the threads at correct torque. But if you over torque, you would eventually hit a chrome to chrome stop and start risking damage.
 
Sounds like there could be a thread problem to me I have changed my hoses many times never bother torquing just go by feel snug then an additional 1/4 turn at the most.
