I have only been diving for about a year and I got the Mares Abyss which is a great reg but if I where you I would not think twice about getting the Zeagle. I truly believe that most average divers wont be able to tell the difference except how they feel in your mouth so either way your good to go if they feel good. But the other poster was right in buying the best reg you can afford and make sure you budget for a air integrated computer, you will be glad you did.

I know most instructors are big on buying from your LDS but Scuba toys treated me right and they are good enough to grace us with their presence on this board. I have had one service issue with my computer and I had no problems because I got it back faster than most LDS can because they had it in thier inventory.

Mk 25 s 600 Scuba Pro but get it from a local shop...no warranty online. Apeks and Atomic as well. ...You shouldn't have any issues with the others either..I can only speak from personal experience. Most regs on the market see to be reliable. SOME definitely breathe better than others.

There is no right or wrong answer here. Remember, all gear on a diver must be of equal capability. A super-premium regulator is the choice if everything else, including training and skill, can go to the depths where these regs excel. It takes big bucks gear, and training to go down to 200 feet. By the time a diver is ready to go there, they will be experienced enough to know exactly what they want.

I consult other divers around Central Florida before buying gear. If a brand is popular here, service is readily available, too. Some manufacturers are not represented equally strong in all parts of the US. The best choice for a guy in one state may not be the best elsewhere. If you were here, I would advise Oceanic. It is sold by large and small retailers, priced right, and there are a variety of models and features to available. They are highly rated in comparison tests. If the time ever comes for a reg to go really deep, you can get a good money selling a used one.

I recommend Scuba Pro Mk 25/ X650
Smoothe Baby, Yehhhhhhhhhhh

I use Zeagle 50D/Zx regs on my Doubles and a Zeagle DS5 on my stage bottles. Awesome regs. I dive year-round in Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes and never had a problem with freeze ups or free flow.
