I did my Very First Dives in Playa Del Carmen, and then finished my Certification in Catalina, kind of ass backwards I guess :) Had no idea how different it was going to feel with 7mm and a Hood, Kind of freaked me out...60 Cold Water Dives later I feel like a much more competent diver and have to say my experiences in So. Ca. rival my experiences in the Caribbean and Hawaii! Power Scuba is a terrific group with great people who really care about each other...Recently completed my Advanced with Bill Powers and his personal attention and love for the sport make him highly recommended to your friends!
 
I can't imagine diving without a hood at this point. I think I would wear one even in Cozumel just because it'd feel like showing up to a party in my underwear instead of a proper suit.
