So, having opened this MK2 up, I can't help but notice that it's an astonishingly easy reg to service. I compare it to Atomic M1, which has been sold to me by LDS years ago, and which requires at least two specialized tools and way more o'rings to be serviced. With service being a recurring expense, is there really a benefit in holding on to such complicated and balanced first stages, or can they be just ditched in favor of simple and cheap to service MK2, for recreational diving? Especially if the second stage is balanced?

110psi isn’t soo bad, out of spec but probably will not be deadly — esp with balanced 2nds

I might have an mk10 shim (that should match the PN for the mk2) somewhere, If I find it it’s yours (this will take a while to dig up tho)

Well umm… preference thing I guess is what it boils down to

If you don’t mind the radial hose config, don’t need a turret, don’t need a mad flowrate for really deep dives (who does even, and with what tank) nor you need a real cold water reg then sure

Mk2 is bullet proof based on how simple it is, and thus a great backup/deco reg
I have one o2 cleaned for deco reg as it has so little combustibles

@Nemrod can sing its praises more, he dives mk2/g250s alot
