Hey all,

Hopefully the hive mind can help me to purchase another of these DSMBs

I have this incredible backup DSMB.
One breath to fill, Solas tape at the tip.
Unbranded (can't find any email purchase receipts).
I used to shove it in a pocket on a tiny short spool, to deploy from a safety stop if my main were to snag or tangle.

Does anyone own one or know who makes them?

The valve is busted and it immediately deflates. So I'd like to fix or replace the valve.

Then, if I am successful in repurposing the float how I intend to, I will purchase another 3-4.

Appears to be a Deep Sea Supply. Out of production unfortunately.

Wow thanks,
Do you own one?
How did you recognise the brand?

Any suggestions on how I could find replacement parts to replace the valve?
Tweeze out the busted bit and replace? Or remove and reseal the whole inflate tube?

Seems such a shame to get rid of it.

I'm hoping to use it from the surface, attached to a dive weight, to temporarily mark a subsurface target in the river.

I have a similar use case DSMB.
Mine is Cressi Deco Pro Buoy.

This exact one.
i can plow it up in one breath, has a reflective tape on the top and a message pouch.

I no longer own one. DeepSeaSupply - Product Detail old product listing.

When you say the valve is busted, do you mean the oral inflate tube?

Thanks

Yes, the oral inflation tube.
As soon as it's inflated it deflates immediately.
I've never had one fail for swimming or diving so never considered how simple or not it is to replace.

I’d run some very warm water through it to at least rule out whether it’s not seating because of salt on the seating surface. If that fails, heat up the entire tube and tweeze out that piece. I think @tbone1004 still has one and might have other ideas.

Ah, nice one, thanks

I'll pick one up for some R&D.

not sure if it is the same diameter, but those valves always rot out and fail after a while. If you contact Carter lift bags, they MAY sell you a few of those one way valve assemblies. You have to use hot water to remove the valve from the tube.

Next time you fly, acquire the valve from the under seat life jacket.
I kid, but those valves are ubiquitous in inflatable life vests. If you’re near a marine store you could maybe find one there
