Looking for cavern/deep computer

What makes the petrel that much better than the nitek?? Being able to keep 1000 logs and have Bluetooth it's cool but not 1/3 better as someone suggested

The list is long, but a few quick points...
The petrel is easier to use.
It comes standard with everything you need and you'll not likely outgrow it.
They have better customer support.
The Petrel is easier to use (Did I say that already?)
The Petrel has less problem from its initial release through now.

Do a search on Shearwater on this board, then do a search on Nitek on this board. The differences will be very easy to determine.

+1 for the Petrel...love mine.

++++++1 for getting more dive experience before you drop this kind of money. The more experience diving you have the more defined your actual needs will get and your wants will diminish. Just look at the classified ads, they are full of new condition equipment that new divers bought only to find out they bought it out of a want and not a need.

p.s. The Petrel is hardly seen in the For Sale forum because most divers who need that type of computer love them...I know that I won't be selling mine.

i end up getting a nitek q, got a good price on it, and easy pretty simple to use..

the software does suck

edit: i just contacted dive rite and was told by them that their servers were/are down
