A good diver once told me that using a reg that helps with drymouth is not a good idea because you will not be able to tell if you are getting dehydrated. Best bet is too drink more water.

Oh by the way, IP is intermediate pressure. Its the pressure that the first stage reduces the high pressure (HP) from the tank and is usually around 120-150 PSI above ambient pressure (or pressure at depth). The 2nd stage then reduces that further to low pressure (equal to ambient pressure). :D
 
I was going to suggest attaching a camel pak to your tank and taking a drink from it from time to time.
