Hi Sapphire,
As mentioned a couple of posts ago, I got the Bihn Monolith #2 hard case for my heavy, large Toshiba 5200 series. I'll be using it in my LL Bean backpack. The Bean (which is the largest of the available "urban" type bags--as opposed to mountain gear--) is an amazing backpack: it has three separate compartments, one easily large enough to accomodate my big, stuffed regulator bag, the center one fits the large Bihn #2 and the front one is beautifully divided up into any number of flaps, zipper compartments, pen holders, phone holders, etc, etc. Then there are two more, relatively thin zippered compartments on the front.
The backpack is extremely tough (I use it every day for work) Cordura with compression straps and a waist strap. When Dive traveling, I stuff it with the reg bag, computer, computer power supply, battery charger + power supply, loads of batteries, flashlight, book, files, magazines, power bars, water bottles, and a light change of clothes, plus any number of googaws. It's fat when full, but I've never been asked to check it on even the tiniest puddle jumpers.
Just another option to add to your considerations, though I don't know if the current model LL Bean looks exactly like mine (they seem to change almost every year).

Good luck!
