The AOW idea is interesting but I have to think about it. My plan was just to dive for fun without worrying much about skills, tests, etc. But if AOW class is not too involved, maybe I'll sign up for the weekend class.

Also, if you were to do a boat charter, please check with the boat to see if they include tank and weights. Lots of boats do that. If yes then that's less gears you'll have to worry about renting from an LDS.
