Looking for a Central Florida Instructor/Charter

Hello Everyone,

I have a friend who is getting married in August, and she has expressed some interest to me in my diving, and stated that she would like to learn to dive.

I am curious if there would be some way for me to arrange for her to do some sort of resort dive/guided by an instructor dive with some manatees or something (as an engagement/wedding present from me)

I am traveling down there this weekend to spend a week... I carry two sets of fins/two masks with me.. so I could hook her up with a set, and my *for training purposes only* snorkle... so would need to get her a set of boots, and rent the rest of her gear....

So is anyone *instructor qualified* willing to take a sweetie under their wing for a day to expose her to blowing bubbles?

I'd probably be tagging along at a comfortable distance in my sidemount rig.... with some POS disposable underwater camera

P.S. I'm actually leaving Wednesday morning headed in that direction, but I won't make it to her house until Friday night... So I might be a little delayed in replying...

Well, the manatees probably wont be around, but Id suggest calling the nearest shop to where youre going. They can no doubt hook her up with a discover scuba type course.

I've posted and emailed with an independent PADI instructor, Scott Brower, on another board, and although I've never met him person, he does indeed seem like a personable and knowledgeable fellow. As far as I know, Scott is still based in Tampa. (I was actually planning to finish up my PADI OW with him but the logistics didn't work out.)

Any diving in Mendota, VA?

Going with Jackie from Seminole Scuba..

And not a bit of diving in Mendota VA.. closest diving that I know of is at the South Holston Dam, just outside of Bristol, VA.. visibility is pretty low, water stays pretty chilly..

The shop I dive with (Smoky Mountain Divers, Kingsport, TN) goes down to Loch Low-Minn Quarry in Athens, TN every Wednesday, and down to Lake City, FL to dive the springs about once a month...

That's kind of what I thought. I go to Boones Mill, VA annually, and I haven't seen much when it comes to diving. I keep trying to go to the dive shop in Roanoke, but... wife keeps me busy in Boones Mill...
