Since he has PPB, why not do the full navigation specialty, one more of your choosing to reach adventure diver, then he can take deep and take one more? That's a more meaningful way to reach AOW (my opinion) and allowed in PADI standards.

Then with rescue, your son qualifies for MSD, and you don't waste time/money with the 5-dive AOW.

I agree however with school being as it is this year we have less time and funds for those classes right now. The current plan is to do more specialty classes next spring and summer. Along with rescue to eventually complete his MSD. Trust me I don't want to make it easy on him. I want him to have to work for it but his school work also has to be completed and with B+ grades.
