Looey Key suggestions ?

Does anybody have any dive operation suggestions in the Bahia Honda-Looey Key-Big Pine Key area?

I'm planning a weekend trip to the area, and only know of Looey Key Dive Resort. Any experience with them, good or bad?

We use Underseas when we stay in the Keys .They are on BigPine Key.Looe Key resort is OK we had to many down once and had to put some folks up there.Thier accomodations run from OK to yucky.Unfortunately there's not a whole lot around.You can try Parmers Place on Little Torch,Dolphin Marina has a few rooms ,there's Little Palm Island if your tastes and finances allow.Several other members were down this summer too,perhaps they'll be along with more help.If possible do a night dive on Looe Key and a trip to the Adophus Busch will usually turn up 2-5 Jewfish on the stern along with occasional snook,permit,tarpon,jacks etc...

we are actuallly camping at the bahia honda state park, on accommodations we usually adapt to whatever our budget is at the time.

It's on the dive operators that we would rather spend the money for a good boat and crew, than to save a few bucks.

There is a re-modeled motel in Big Pine Key. Looks better than it once did. Marathon has numerous hotels in all price ranges. I too camp at Bahia Honda and use Paradise Diver on Sunshine Key. Nice people and two excellent boats. Looe Key resort is not bad but they run a cattle boat operation. I have dove with them only because they were the only ones going to the Agustus Busch wreck.

Key West is only 30 miles down the road. Go for it!
