I'll be down in Islamorada last saturday of Aug for coral planting dives. I figure while down there I might as well book a motel and do some dives. I haven't dove the middle or lower keys in ages and am wondering if I should just dive there or head south to Looe Key.

I'm just looking to do some relaxing dives, no hunting and no wrecks in ripping current.

About 4-5 years ago I went out with Captain Hook's on Looe Key and dove on what I think they call the "Looe Key Reef Trip." Very mellow. I cannot speak for diving on Isla.

Agreed on Looe Key being a relaxing spot. I’ve been there many times, but never actually on scuba. I primarily snorkel/freedive due to the depths. It is a nice spot, and is deep enough to dive.

Take a look at my numerous post
Almost all are Islamorada with pix and conditions
This is today and yesterday

I've had good experiences with Key Dives in Islamorada.
They are moving 5 miles north starting tommorrow
