i just realized that, while i've been posting quite often about this-and-that on scubaboard ... mostly in the gear and dive travel boards, i've never talked about my main, long-term goal:

i want to dive the britannic!

now, i'm not talking about this year ... or even this decade necessarily. i want at least 1000 wreck dives, and adequate trimix & rebreather training first. this is my shoot-for-the-moon goal. something that might never happen, but even still ... the journey towards that level of diving skill is a valid goal in it of itself, right?

what are your long term goals?

For where I am in life I'm making the dives I want to make, making more is always a goal.

More regular warm water diving would be a treat.

Someday being appreciated in a mentor is a notion I'm fond of.

Being blessed with the health to keep playing this game to the end is a hope.

(Diving with) a spirit of continuous improvement is a lifestyle.

In 5 years this has taken me places I never expected. I just want to keep enjoying the ride.

what are your long term goals?

Coming face to face with a great white, smacking him in the nose, and living to talk about it

To dive into my 80's---btw, that's very long term---&, I'm halfway there, 25 down---25 to go( that'll get me to 83---close enuff)

Two: To finally finish DM (I'm 56) and be healthy enough for at least a few years to make use of it.
To finally go to a place I've hunted for for years. I found it and hope to be there in the Caribbean this coming winter for a week. Diving to collect shells (dead or living) for my shell collection-- in a country where it is legal to do so and legal to take them out of the country. AND aboard a PADI dive op charter that permits it (they collect themselves)!

Dive to 160 ft for 30 minutes in the Agamemnon Channel in British Columbia.

At depth large/huge cloud sponges and red gorgonians that get bigger with depth live. I've seen cloud sponges going down to 120-130 ft on two dives but that's a serious depth in those waters. I've seen very small gorgonians at those dives too, but that should just be where they start. I want time to swim around deeper.

It's a long term goal because my current thinking is in the direction of UTD/GUE-type basic skills first and trimix certification for the actual dives. If I get to that level the exact time and depth would be negotiable :)

Wow! Before you die question! Love these and looking forward to hearing more as I imagine there are so many that I haven't even heard of.

Me, the realistic long(ish)/intermediate goal is to be completely online in my business so I can work and live (almost) where I want and dive a variety of places purely for pleasure.

I also want to get into tech diving. My most-sought-after would be going back to the Blue Hole in Dahab and doing the Arch this time.

After that, it's onto do the Sara at Bikini.

Bring it on!!!
