I need some suggestions for how to handle long hair inside a drysuit hood. I will be working with a female diver who is new to dry diving and has very long hair. I could use some help with suggestions for getting all the hair through the neck seal and stowage inside the hood. I'm totally in the dark here ladies. HELP!

I have the same problem because I too have long hair.
I use to make a pony tail, just in the top of my head and turn it all around itself, afterwards I put my hood on and it stays all inside.
I don't have a drysuit but this works with my 6.5mm hood.

Put the hair in a ponytail or whatever and pack it inside a lycra hood BEFORE pulling the neck seal on. It will slide over the lycra without all the pain. The hood can then be replaced. Likewise to pull the neck seal back over the head.Much less painful!

tell her to cut it aaallll off! Only joking, I did that about a month ago and now I feel like a shorn sheep! (although it dries so much faster it's almost worth it)

I use a scrunchie and put mine up in a pony tail. Women that I know that have long and thick hair will braid it down (I think it is called French braiding) and let it hang out the bottom of the hood. Too much hair in the hood is not a good thing. ages

DO NOT tuck your hair into the neck seal of your drysuit. It will casue your drysuit to leak. braid your hair and let it hang out of your hood down your back, or wrap it around your head!

Thanks for the info. I should have related that she will be diving in a Gates suit equipped with a latex hood. I get that it would be best to somehow "bundle" her hair to get it through the neck seal. My next concern is where to put it all under the attched latex hood of the suit. She will be using an Interspiro Divator MKII full face mask with communications. I need to be certain that the hair doesn't interfere with encapsulation and the conductivity of the bone-mics we use on our comms. Keep the info rolling I'm really in school here. Thanks again.
